Mask Shop, Venice (oil)

This labour of love took a year to complete. We stayed at an hotel directly opposite the shop and passed by this window many times. The masks are hand painted and each has an individual personality. I took lots of photos of that window as it fascinated me so much.  On my return home I couldn’t do anything else but start to paint those amazing faces.  I sold it a few years back and still miss it lying around the studio.
